In 1995, Sonic Youth released their new studio album, Washing Machine, which had two singles, "The Diamond Sea" and "Little Trouble Girl".
"Little Trouble Girl" became one of the band's most memorable songs. The song, sung by Kim Gordon and featuring Kim Deal — at the time a former Pixies member and active with the Breeders — was given a music video that received heavy rotation on MTV.
In March 2025, on the 30th anniversary of the song, the two Kims reunite on Netflix's Everybody's Live talk show for a live performance of "Little Trouble Girl."
Before this meeting, Kim Gordon played "Bye Bye", a track from her second solo album, The Collective, released last year, and Kim Deal played "Nobody Loves You More", the title track from her first solo album, also released in 2024.
