Dinosaur Jr. announces new album and releases single “Several Got Away”

Dinosaur Jr. will release his 13th studio album, There Near , on August 28, on the Jagjaguwar label. Second J Mascis , the trio sought to recapture a sound similar to that of their early work. To achieve this, they used a 1970s Boogie Mark I amplifier—the same one used on the recordings for the band’s debut album.

The first single from There Near is the track “Several Got Away.” The song has a music video with a homemade aesthetic, inspired by an illustration by American writer and illustrator Henry Darger (1892–1973), in which children are terrorized by two giant hands.
