Kurt Vile announces new album, Philadelphia's Been Good to Me

Kurt Vile

"My best vocal record... my best electric guitar record... my most organic record... I’m treating it like my last record". These are the words of Kurt Vile on Philadelphia's Been Good to Me , a new work by the American musician that will be released on May 29th via Verve Records.

Vile also described the project as a love letter to Philadelphia. Despite having passed through studios in Memphis and Los Angeles, most of the album was recorded in the studio that the musician maintains in the basement of his own home.

Philadelphia's Been Good to Me is the artist's tenth studio album — a count that includes the praised collaborative album Lotta Sea Lice (2017), a partnership with the singer Courtney Barnett .
