Juliette Lewis was born on June 21, 1973, in Los Angeles. Her acting career began in the late 1980s. But it was in the 1990s that she played two memorable characters in film, in Cape Fear (1991) and Natural Born Killers (1994).
In early 2003, Lewis began a career in music, forming the band Juliette and the Licks, which featured energetic rock with a strong punk rock influence.
The band released two albums, You're Speaking My Language (2005) and Four on the Floor (2006). Juliette and the Licks disbanded in 2009. A reunion for a tour took place in 2016.
