Iceage

Iceage is a Danish band formed in 2008 in Copenhagen by musicians who were still in their teens, around 17 years old. Initially influenced by hardcore and post-punk, the group quickly drew attention for the intensity of their live performances and the raw sound of their debut album, New Brigade, released in 2011.

In 2013, now signed to Matador Records, the group released You're Nothing, an album that expanded their musical identity by incorporating elements of noise rock and art punk. Their evolution continued with Plowing Into the Field of Love (2014), an album that surprised listeners by exploring more elaborate arrangements, with influences from gothic rock, folk, and chamber music.

After a four-year hiatus, the band returned with Beyondless (2018), further broadening their sound by incorporating elements of soul, blues, and classic rock. On Seek Shelter (2021), produced by Sonic Boom, the group reinvented its sound once again, moving toward Britpop, alternative rock, and more accessible melodies, without abandoning the intensity characteristic of their compositions.

In 2026, the quintet released their sixth studio album, For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, marking a return to a more direct and urgent approach. Recorded at the legendary Silence Studio in Sweden, the album recaptures some of the energy of their early work while synthesizing all phases of the band’s career, blending post-punk, punk rock, alternative rock, and moments of dark lyricism. The album reaffirms Iceage as one of the most inventive and unpredictable acts in contemporary European rock.
